NSW School Holidays Art WorkshopsGreat art activities that are designed purely for fun to keep them busy in the holidays. Classes will allow you to get practicing sketching with techniques designed to tune you into your surroundings and increase confidence.
Each school holiday program has fun and quirky workshops inspired by the season, famous artists like Van Gogh or Monet, or popular children's entertainment like Among Us or Manga. Abbie Barr loves to share her passion for art and has enjoyed being a mentor art school in school programs to help younger children better engage with learning. She studies a Bachelor of Visual Communication and is learning to design the future. She is interested in cartooning and character creation, as well as making fantasy landscapes.

Learn how to turn your doodling into a work of art in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. The course is set up for beginners to some with experience. All are welcome for a fun introduction to the fundamental principles of exploring watercolour and gouache on paper and canvas. The aim is to study nature, flora, fauna, still lifes and explore the different ways we can paint subject matter.
On your first visit, there are a couple of housekeeping matters, like a form that needs to be filled in, so the centre knows who you are, who to contact in case of an emergency and so on. Despite the nature of this course running on a drop in basis, they still take the roll, even though this experience is nowhere near as formal as school, uni or any other formal course/s. As you make your way into the Surry Hills Library, head up to stairs, and a bright, airy space awaits. Tai Chi classes are run before the art and drawing classes with Jane. You are allowed to help yourself to some tea, coffee, water or biscuits while waiting. In this 2.5 hour beginner class you will have fun by painting traditional ceramic bowls.

Classes take place both on weekdays and weekends with prices ranging from $50 – $80. But there is another, unconfessed debt from the same period that is more telling. While in Someone Else Hughes acknowledges the variety of artistic voices and stances he assumes, at least one borrowed passage goes unattributed. This is the first instance of unambiguous plagiarism we have found in his work.
They provide a fridge and glassware, so all you need to bring is a bottle of wine—or a few. Or, opt for the Parramatta sessions and you'll be getting creative in an actual club, so no need to BYO. At any of its locations, you'll be painting music icons, from Lauryn Hill and Cardi B to Snoop and Biggie, as you sip away. During the school holidays, Art Est runs a very popular 2-week workshop program. This is filled with half-day, full-day and two-day workshops for ages 5-16.
Provides quality education in fine arts for students aged from 5 years to late teens in Sydney area. Our art class are designed to teach the fundamentals to those just starting in art and to develop the skills as the student’s knowledge of the fundamentals grows. The emphasis is on the students having fun creating art and at the same time building solid skills that will allow inspiration to turn their imagination into works they can be proud of. Lindy’s Art Class aim on develloping your child’s technical skills in drawing, painting, mixed media, collage, clay, sculpture, ceramic painting and printmaking.

Mixed media is an endless adventure into experimentation limited only by your imagination. In this introductory class, students will explore mixed media through both drawing and painting exercises, combining mediums such as graphite, gouache, watercolour, ink, oil, pastel and acrylic paint. Jane will take you through exercises to challenge your perception of what painting and drawing is. Lessons will include looking at works by artists such as Braque, Picasso, Matisse, Rauschenberg... Thank you for your participation, encouragement and ideas. Ive particularly enjoyed our Book Club sessions dicussing our favourite sketchbook artists. A new online, Learn to Sketch & Colour evening class starts on Monday 14 September. Perfect for those people working during the day or Victorians still in lockdown. When I was about 7 or so, I saw a photo of Van Gogh’s Wheatfield with Crows in an old art book. The painting moved me so much, that in many ways, the moment was imprinted and changed something in me that defined a path for me.

Knowledge really isn’t everything, no matter how much you think you know or don’t know, it will take something else. It takes a combination of guts and willingness and a sense of curiosity and fun that will allow yourself to make plenty of mistakes and failures.
