As a territorial authority, the Carterton District Councilis required to manage and enforce the Dog Control Act 1996 (the Act). Oneof the notable differences of the concept design is the relocation of the skatebowl. Moving the bowl to the lower section of the park allowed the teamto maximise the space. Due to the footprint size restrictions includingthe tree drip lines and other infrastructure items. It was astruggle to get enough length in the footprint to fit a goodprogressive street section design. This brings the bowl and the widerskate park into the open, away from the trees, not just to avoid debris, butalso to make it more visible and safer. Additionally, the current bowl requiresremedial works to bring it up to spec.
The entire has been painted removing the distinctive element of the design and construction. The house is of asymmetric planform with twin gables and a skillion roof over the verandah. The gables have timber batten detailing and present in a similar manner.
