Our online counselling service gives you access to support, regardless of your location. We do also offer in-person counselling to schools and families in the North West of England. Our therapists are qualified mental health practitioners with extensive experience helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing. Our therapists can support you with feelings of anxiety, depression and more.
Wellspring has been in service to the people of Edinburgh and beyond for over 40 years and maintains a lovely building for this purpose. Online therapy is a convenient and time-effective option for accessing mental health treatment. You speak with your therapist over the internet via a live video call rather than face-to-face, which means you have the Online Counselling UK ability to participate in sessions anywhere you like. With online counselling, you can begin treatment more quickly than you would with traditional therapy, as we can schedule your first appointment within days. Many people choose online / telephone therapy and counselling sessions as a flexible alternative or an addition to in-person sessions.

While face to face counselling is always available in our London therapy rooms, online counselling and psychotherapy is also available to everyone in the UK using platforms like Zoom, WhatsApp and FaceTime. We provide online and telephone counselling to our clients around the world.

This course is for Mums and Dads adapting to changes that being a new parent brings. It looks at expectations of becoming a parent compared with the reality and explores the practical steps to manage parental stress, your mood and help you to cope day to day – including finding time for yourself. Nearly every service user had confidence in their therapist and their skills and techniques. Our recognition of mental health and how it affects our lives is greater than ever before, and is growing with each passing... Whatever your schedule or how you prefer to communicate, we do our best to accommodate your needs.
The sessions typically last around 60 minutes and can be arranged as a course of ongoing therapy, or as an occasional session to compliment regular in person meetings. Online counselling offers a range of benefits over working face to face with a therapist. It overcomes a range of barriers to access that includes location and disability. It gives you access to a wider range of therapists from which you can choose. And, as I highlight below under Common Questions, online counselling is every bit as effective as working face to face.
For those who do not have this option, they may wish to pause their counselling until face-to-face sessions can resume. Counsellors may suggest email counselling or instant messaging as a way to continue support, or else some self-help resources to refer to if appropriate. While many counsellors have already been seeing clients online for some time, many of us are having to make this shift now out of necessity.

If you’re receiving treatment with us, we can also offer advice and practical support on applying for jobs, preparing for interviews and dealing with workplace problems. We email you the signed PDF copy so that you can choose who you want to receive the letter. Once we have sent you the PDF signed copy, the onus for distributing the letter rests with you. The Counselling Service is not responsible for who reads the letter after we have sent it to you or any consequences of so doing. Making contact early allows for more potential flexibility and options regarding how best to resolve the situation.
Our phone lines are extremely busy and we regret that you may be on hold for some time. If you are an existing patient, the best way to contact us is to login to your secure Patient Portal and leave a note or you can contact us using our contact form. Use your own computer, tablet or phone to get easy access to medical treatment and, as doctors, we have the ability to prescribe suitable medication, if required.
All our services are free to all UK-based undergraduate and postgraduate taught and research students. Sharon is a very gifted counsellor – she listens both to and through your words and finds the places that can help unlock your problems and move forward. She’s very intuitive – she is fun when you need your spirits lifting, challenging when you need to be pushed, strong and wise when you need to lean on someone. I have the utmost trust and respect for her professionalism and experience. It’s no exaggeration to say he looks better and sounds better . I know it’s early stages and there are still lots of things to overcome.
